The Lighthouse restaurant, located at Thornwick Bay holiday park in Flamborough head, East Yorkshire, was renovated and extended to allow for additional seating space. The design idea was to emphasize the relation of the restaurant with the nearby Flamborough Lighthouse. We used glazed façade with the suitable orientation that allows views to the lighthouse from most of the seating space positions. The circular shape of the restaurant and a tall skylight also provides references to the lighthouse. I was involved in producing the planning, tender, construction drawing’s sets and updating the drawings during construction.
