THE LOVE BEES
The building of the new kindergarten and day-care centre is located in the village Agglisides near Larnaca in Cyprus. The kindergarten is designed to serve three groups of children from toddler to primary school age.
All indoor spaces are directly connected through big glassed doors to the outdoor courtyard. The main façade of the building due to the owners’ demands needed to be relatively narrow. Therefore, the impression of a kindergarten façade was given by a wide, narrow, horizontal window which it would actually work as a display window of the children drawings and crafts. Additionally, elements that create a playful impression on the building’s facades but also in the atmosphere inside the building are the small 60x60 cm windows in different glass colours. The ways that those small windows are positioned create an interesting image for young children on both sides, in and out of the building. The colourful tiny windows can be a form of inspiration for the young children.
The young couple that moved into this basement apartment needed an interior design that can make their living room more enjoyable and interesting. I designed a fitted furniture construction that has plenty of space on the shelves and can mount their TV but also allows for the installation of hidden LED lights to illuminate the space. The furniture has a curved shape turning on the roof to form a slightly lower ceiling in the centre of the living room and creating a cozy atmosphere which got my clients excited and their visitors impressed.
